Yesterday Bell announced that it is looking to eliminate up to 22 positions in TEAM’s bargaining unit, with departure dates between November 9th and December 31st. The targeted positions are in Network Services, Marketing Communications, Residential & Small Business, and Business Solutions. A small number of positions in Unifor and IBEW are also targeted for elimination.
Although we accepted the Company’s Final Offer in September, TEAM has agreed to an enhanced version of the VRTIP, the EVRTIP, being available to our members.
TEAM members who are not in a targeted position may also apply for the EVRTIP, however, the decision to approve or deny an application rests solely with the Company. The deadline to apply is 4:00 p.m. on November 8, 2019. If you are considering applying and would like us to send you a copy of the EVRTIP information package, please contact the TEAM office. The information package is also available via the link in the announcement from the Company.
As TEAM will be doing all it can to help members who do not wish to leave remain employed, knowing the number and location of all EVRTIP applicants may be critical in discussions around redeployments and saving someone from being laid off. We are therefore asking for your help in tracking and monitoring the progress of the voluntary departure program:
