By now, many of you will have heard or read in the news about Bell’s upcoming round of 1,200 unionized job cuts across Canada, as well as an “enhanced voluntary separation program” for eligible employees that Bell is proposing to accompany these cuts. While we fully expect that this round of job cuts will target a number of TEAM positions, unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to provide further details regarding the specifics, including what is meant by “enhanced voluntary separation program”.
However, we can inform you that we are in ongoing discussions with Bell regarding the downsizing, and any deviations from the existing provisions of our Collective Agreement would require formal sign-off by TEAM.
We understand the added stress that the current situation may cause for our members, and we commit to providing additional information as soon as possible.
