The TEAM office is receiving an overwhelming number of questions from members related to Bell’s current downsizing and VSP initiative; we are working through all of the inquiries and will get back to everyone as soon as possible. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your continued patience. We understand how stressful this situation is, and we share your frustration that so much has been left unclear in Bell’s roll out of this downsizing and voluntary package.
We are preparing a Q&A communication to go out to members this week. In the meantime, a lot of the questions that we are receiving are questions that Bell can and rightly should be answering, such as how payout amounts have been calculated, confirmation on whether you are in a targeted position, timelines for departures and payouts; how to access the Lateral Transfer request form in Bellnet, pension estimate information, etc. – we strongly encourage you to contact Bell first through Ask HR for these types of inquiries, as they ought to be able to answer many of them – if not, then please let us know.
TEAM issued a press release on Friday to highlight the recent round of Bell job cuts and the impact to TEAM members and Manitoba jobs, and the Winnipeg Free Press ran an article over the weekend on the job loss, as well. TEAM is also continuing to engage with political representatives to help safeguard these well-paid, highly skilled telecommunications jobs, before it’s too late.
