Negotiations Update: Our negotiating team will be heading to the table for the first time on Monday to meet with Bell and begin discussions for the renewal of the collective agreement. We’re prepared to fight for the best deal possible for our membership—stay tuned for additional updates.

Paid Sick Day Entitlements: We are concerned members are not receiving their full sick day entitlements. Sick time should be replenished annually on your NCS anniversary date based on the amounts under Article 13 – Sick Leave Benefits of our Collective Agreement. For members over 6 years of service, you are entitled to a maximum of 22 new days, reduced proportionately by the number of sick days taken in the previous 12 months. As an example, if you take 12 sick days during the 12-month period, you should expect a reduction of one day from your full allotment i.e. you would receive 21 new days instead of the full 22. Please contact the TEAM office or our Labour Relations Officer, Gordon Lillie, if you have questions or concerns relating to paid sick leave benefits or if you are unable to access your entitlements.

Labour Day Event: Winnipeg Labour Council is hosting a Labour Day Family Fun Day on September 1st in Memorial Park. The event will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will include activities for all ages, such as light refreshments, face painting, bouncy castles, and games. Members are invited to attend, celebrate workers’ achievements, and enjoy a day of family fun!
