Negotiations Update: Our negotiating team met with Bell on August 18th and 20th to exchange opening proposals and begin discussions towards the renewal of our Collective Agreement. TEAM’s high-level priorities for this round are to protect what we have today and make improvements for our members by means of
- annual general wage increases that align with trends across the sector and ensure that the commitment and contributions of TEAM members are fairly recognized and rewarded;
- increased job opportunities across Bell; and
- revised collective agreement language to simplify and streamline processes.
At this time, with regards to Bell’s stated objectives and proposals for this round, we can share that while Bell is seeking to reduce or takeaway from what we have today in some areas, it does appear that our starting positions in other areas are not that far apart.
With five in-person meeting dates scheduled in September, the parties look to make significant progress towards reaching a tentative agreement. Stay tuned for additional updates and information.
TEAM Annual Scholarships: Applications are now being accepted for TEAM’s annual scholarship program. TEAM will award scholarships to members and members’ children as follows:
- Four $500 scholarships to TEAM members to help defray the cost of a work or career related academic or vocational course or seminar, and
- Four $1,000 scholarships to dependent children, including stepchildren, of TEAM members enrolled in first year post-secondary education at university, community college, trade school or an apprenticeship program.

Labour Day: The TEAM Office will be closed for Labour Day on Monday, September 1st – we wish members a safe and enjoyable long weekend! A reminder that the Winnipeg Labour Council is hosting a Labour Day Family Fun Day on September 1st at Memorial Park. The event will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will include activities for all ages, such as light refreshments, face painting, bouncy castles, and games. Members are invited to attend, celebrate workers’ achievements, and enjoy a day of family fun!
