Last week, TEAM filed a Policy and Group Grievance challenging Bell’s implementation of its recent Workforce Reduction Program (WRP), including aspects of the Voluntary Separation Package (VSP) and the resulting layoffs of twelve TEAM members.

The grievance alleges that Bell failed to comply with several provisions of the Collective Agreement in administering the WRP, VSP and layoff process. Among other things, TEAM is challenging Bell’s application of the layoff, recall and severance provisions, employee selection, and whether reasonable alternatives to involuntary layoffs were properly considered.

The grievance will now proceed through the contractual grievance process, and TEAM will continue to advocate for the rights of affected members under the Collective Agreement.

We will keep members informed as the matter progresses.
