Election for TEAM President – Reminder: The electronic voting window opened today at 12 noon. By now, members eligible to vote ought to have received an email from Voter Info containing instructions and their unique voting PIN; the emails were sent yesterday evening, ahead of schedule, out of caution due to concerns about a potential power outage and loss of internet connection occurring today resulting from weather conditions on the East coast where the voting company is located.
The candidates, Dave Eyjolfson and Tobias Theobald, have provided their written campaign statements of not more than 100 words, which are provided below:
- Dave Eyjolfson
I joined the TEAM board because I care about our members and our jobs. My Dad raised me to value job security, fair wages and good benefits. I’m in this for long haul with you and I’ve got 20+ years left until retirement. I am already very engaged with our membership and before our next negotiations I want to make sure our committees have your input to advocate for what you need from TEAM.
I’m approachable, empathetic, I have open communication with members in all business units and have experience with IBEW and UNIFOR. Vote Dave Eyjolfson for TEAM President.
- Tobias Theobald
I started with MTS in 1999, joining the TEAM Board in 2014. I have advocated for member rights, representing TEAM three times at contract negotiations. Voting for me, you are voting for someone that wants to protect member rights, advocate for new jobs, and keep our union strong; all while expecting that our employer treats us with the respect we deserve.
TEAM members bring Manitoba’s top talent, skill and dedication to work. Good jobs are not only good for Manitobans, they’re good business for Bell.
As President I will lead our board with integrity and openness, putting the membership first.

Bell PMP Year End Reviews: As we make our way through the end of year PMP review period, it is important that members understand the performance objectives and leadership competencies on which they are being assessed, how to achieve them, and the reasoning to support any gaps that are identified. Not only is 30% of your Achievement Incentive Plan (AIP) based on the PMP results, but in some cases a subpar assessment can lead to members being pre-screened on job postings or placed on a Performance Improvement Plan.
If you have concerns about your PMP assessment and how it may impact your AIP results, we encourage you to please contact Paula Baryluk, TEAM’s Labour Relations Officer, to discuss options to address your concerns. TEAM has assisted a number of members with AIP/PMP related grievances.
