• General Meeting & Greetings from the IFPTE:  Our first virtual General Meeting was held successfully on November 19th. We appreciate the members who were able to attend and spend their lunch hour with us.  For those who were unable to attend, the meeting presentation is available here. Additionally, if you are interested in watching a recording of the meeting, please contact the TEAM Office for instructions on how to access the video. We’ve not made the recording public as it includes detailed information about our finances (this information has been removed from the attachment). Please let us know if you have questions on any of the topics presented or would like a copy of TEAM’s financial statement. Although unable to join us ‘in-person’ on the day due to prior commitments, IFPTE President, Paul Shearon and Secretary/Treasurer, Matt Biggs recorded video messages of greetings to the TEAM membership on the occasion of our General Meeting. • TEAM Scholarships: Congratulations to this year’s winners of the TEAM-IFPTE Local 161 Annual Scholarships, and thank you to all applicants. As we had no applications this year for the four member awards of $500 each, these funds were reallocated to increase the number of awards for members’ children from four to six. The six scholarships of $1,000 each for first year post-secondary students enrolled in university, community college, trade school or an apprenticeship program were awarded to:
    • Sage Cournoyer (member: Tracy Cournoyer)
    • Elliot Ganas (member: Christopher Ganas)
    • Brady Janz (member: Michael Janz)
    • Chloé Tétreault (member: Paul La Rocque)
    • Joshua Tiede (member: Werner Tiede)
    • Ty Yestrau (member: Lauralee Yestrau)
  • Bell PMP Year End Reviews:  As we make our way through the end of year PMP review period, it is important that members understand the performance objectives and leadership competencies on which they are being assessed, how to achieve them, and the reasoning to support any gaps that are identified.  Not only is 30% of your Achievement Incentive Plan (AIP) based on the PMP results, but in some cases a subpar assessment can lead to members being pre-screened on job postings or placed on a Performance Improvement Plan. If you have concerns about your PMP assessment and how it may impact your AIP results, we encourage you to please contact Alyssa Hung, TEAM’s Labour Relations Officer, to discuss options to address your concerns. TEAM has assisted a number of members with AIP/PMP related grievances.
  • Take-a-Break Gift Cards: In light of TEAM being unable to hold our annual Take-a-Break events over the summer or provide lunch to members attending an in-person General Meeting, members will be receiving a $20 Take-a-Break gift card from one of the options listed below. Although we tried to pick options that would both appeal to a wide array of people and are accessible for members living outside of Winnipeg, we acknowledge and understand that the specified options may not be preferred by everyone. Members will have until the end of day January 8, 2021 to choose from the following options (click to make your selection):
  • Home Mailing Address:  If you have recently updated your address with the TEAM office, you need not read further. In preparation for distributing the Take-a-Break gift cards and voting package for revisions to TEAM’s Constitution and Bylaws, if you have moved within the past 12 months and have not already notified the TEAM Office of the new mailing address, or if it’s been a while and you just want to confirm that we have your correct address on file, please click here to provide us with your new/existing mailing address. Thank you.
  • TEAM Holiday Coverage:  The TEAM Office will be closed from December 24, 2020 (1:00pm) to January 5, 2021 (8:30am). For immediate assistance during the break you may contact TEAM’s (acting) President, Mike Taylor at 204-801-0117.  We will also be checking our main phone voicemail (204-984-9470) and email account (team@teamunion.mb.ca) periodically.  All urgent matters will be addressed.

The TEAM and IFPTE office staff wish you and your family
a safe and joyous Holiday Season!
